Despite the name, Oktoberfest takes place every year in September for 16 days in Munich, Germany. Over 6 million people from all over the attend, and it’s considered THE signature event in Bavarian culture. Because we live in the cultural melting pot of New York, German immigrants have brought their great beer festival across the pond and into our communities. You don’t have to go far from Alston to join in on the fun for a great Oktoberfest – and we can guarantee you won’t have to contend with 6 million other thirsty revelers!

Maxwell’s Oktoberfest – Located in the heart of Islip, just 20 minutes away from your Ronkonkoma apartment, Maxwell’s is a great casual dining spot offering an all around great experience; an innovative menu, family-friendly atmosphere, and an outdoor dog-friendly patio. All of these great attributes combine to make it the Oktoberfest spot the weekend of September 27th! Head down any time Saturday or Sunday for German specialties and cold beer.

Harbor Head Oktoberfest – About a 30 minute drive away in Northport, Harbor Head Brewery is teaming up The Whales Tale Restaurant for an all day Oktoberfest on October 5th! Known for their seasonal craft beer, Harbor Head will have their special fall beers available that day, as well as authentic German food and a raw bar provided by Whales Tale. While at the event you can also catch live music and puff on some cigars! If you can’t make it to Northport that weekend, stop by anytime this fall to try one of their pumpkin beers.
