Apple orchards may be the place to be in September, but come October, the pumpkin is king! While many of the places you headed for your apples will also have Halloween’s favorite vegetable, we have a new few suggestions for those looking for an authentic day out on the farm, away from your beautiful Alston home.
Brightwater Farms – Just 30 minutes from your Alston apartment, but feels like a world’s away from our busy town center, Brightwater Farms is probably one of the most famous pumpkin patches in Long Island. An authentic farm with animals, pumpkin fields and even hayrides, you’ll get a day of country living while you’re visiting this Bay Shore locale. And if you’ve got a sweet tooth, you’ve definitely got to try some of their fall baked goods!
Elwood Farms – A bit farther, but still worth the 45 min trip to Huntington, Elwood Farms is Long Island’s most western pumpkin farm. Here you can ride the hayride, have fun in their corn maze, or just get you pumpkins and enjoy!
