The first day of spring has arrived and life continues on a path toward some pre-pandemic normalcy, so we have searched Long Island for some amazing ideas to keep you all entertained and engaged during Spring Break. There are so many spring break activities for Long Islander to enjoy; such as a beach outing, visits to our local parks or a trip to a local zoo. We have created a wonderful fun filled list to keep everyone active during the spring. Here is a fabulous guide filled with a few of our most exciting and favorite Spring-cation activities on Long Island.

1. Suffolk County is known for our stunning and sprawling beaches stretching

along both shores. Go on a beach walk, hunt for seashells, fish or wade in

calmer waters. There’s nothing more relaxing than a day at the shore.

2. Suffolk County also has 4 diverse public golf courses, which open beginning

in March. Make a reservation for a tee time with friends or family and enjoy a

lovely day out on the course.

3. Our county has a combination of full service Marinas, Boat Ramps and Boat

Launches. They rent rowboats and have vendors who rent Canoes and

Kayaks. Did you know you can rent a boat slip at the Shinnecock Marina

Online with a Green Key? Would you be interested in paddling down the

Nissequogue River? Residents can rent a canoe or kayak at Nissequogue

River Kayak Rentals. What a magnificent way to spend a sunny spring

afternoon.

4. The Sands Point Preserve’s grounds are open to the public for hiking and

nature walks. There are more than 200 acres with six marked trails to

explore. Bring a picnic lunch, play catch, and monkey around

at the Woodland Playground. Be sure to check out their calendar on the link

below for scheduled activities for the month, such as Outdoor Adventures

with Ranger Eric.

5. Do you love animals? Visit one of the local animal farms,

just minutes away from Alston. The Long Island Game Farm in Manorville has

not only a petting zoo, but exotic animals like Giraffes. Visit the Game Farm to

get up close and personal with many species of animals. Pet a baby goat or

feed a giraffe. It’s an enjoyable experience for everyone of all ages. They will

reopen to the public on April 17, 2021.

7. The eastern end of Long Island has many activities for all ages. There’s is

nothing like taking a ride out east on the North Fork passed all the charming

farm stands, with a stop at one of our beautiful wineries for a wine tasting

and to take in the exquisite views of the sprawling vines. They even have

activities such as Jazz night, as well as Paint and Sip Night. Check the

calendars today. Be sure to make a reservation ahead of time, as the wineries

become a popular destination as the weather improves. Cheers to a fabulous
